Huge shout out goes out to Steve, Corinne, and the team from City Fitness for providing such suitable and well-maintained amenities allowing me to rehabilitate promptly after two recent successful major knee surgeries. With their knowledge, support, and advice, I was still physically able to achieve my goals in my chosen sport of Road & Trail Running this year.
I was awarded the 3 Major Awards in the local Mackay Road Runners 2022 Club Calendar against some highly respected and talented competitors: 1) Open Male Club Champion. 2) Open Male Trail Series. 3) Overall Handicap Championship. 4) Age Champion.
I also successfully completed Blackall Range 50k Trail, came 4th in the Whitehaven Beach Half Marathon, and won the Age Champion at Hamilton Island Hilly Half 23k this year!
My chosen sport is very similar to everyday life, riding on the highs and dealing with the lows. The team and facilities at City Fitness allowed me to gauge my fitness level to be able to be competitive in my selection of sports such as Touch Football, Road & Trail Running and Water-skiing.
